6 Months til the big day!

Skin diet/detox time!

Skin diet? What’s that we hear you ask? Diet is so important to the quality of your skin. So kick-start your Bridal Beauty regimen, by focusing on some key ingredients.

Peppermint:
Swap your everyday English Breakfast brew for a cup of peppermint tea. It’s known to be a great stress reliever, good for your body’s digestive system and prevents acne aggravation. It also tastes delicious and soothing. Enjoy bagged Peppermint, or indulge in fresh mint leaves in hot water for a purer, lighter, more fragrant taste.

Water:
You will have heard this time and time again, but it’s true. The best ingredient for healthy looking skin is Water. It flushes out toxins and can even alleviate stress. Stay hydrated! Did we also mention, it’s free!?

Avocado:
They are packed full of nutrients and also a great source of vitamin E, which means that they help your skin’s vitality. Take that highlighter out of your makeup bag, you’ll be naturally glowing after upping the avocado in your diet.

Get Moving

This has nothing to do with weight loss and everything to do with how great exercise is for you. Sweat out your toxins and de-stress doing some exercise that you enjoy. If you hate the Gym, then find a class that gets you motivated. From Zumba to Ballet, Squash to Bootcamps, find something that excites you and get moving. Weave it into your weekly routine, you could even invite your Bridesmaids along and make it a team effort.
If you’re looking to save money in the run-up to your big day, then our top tip for frugal fitness is to a find a Fitness YouTuber that you love and workout from home.

2-3 Months before the wedding day!

Regular facials

You’re welcome! Facials can be one of the best ways to take serious care of your skin. There are so many facials out there, head to the day spa of your choice and discuss your options with a professional Beauty Therapist. They will be able to advise you on the best facials to get and keep your skin nourished, clear and hydrated.  Treating yourself to a Facial once a month in the run-up to the big day is a serious but worthwhile treat for your skin. We also recommend getting a facial two weeks prior to your wedding date, but avoid anything too rich the week of your big day.
You could also swap your cotton pillowcase out for a 100% silk pillowcase in the run-up to the big day. Yes, decadent (!) we know, but the smooth nature of the silk does wonders for your skin- it brings a whole new level to term beauty sleep! The silk helps keep moisture close to your skin
and will help your skin stay more hydrated. It’s also great for your hair too.

2 weeks before the special day

Hair Trim and Colour

Get your hair prepped and preened two weeks before the wedding. It takes a week or so to get used to a new haircut anyway, so leave yourself plenty of time, just in case something goes awry.  Two weeks will give you enough time to get any colour corrected, or to book in for some emergency extensions if something goes horribly wrong.
Just trimming your hair slightly, leaves it looking healthy and refreshed ready for it to be styled on your wedding day.
Thinking about making a drastic hair change? We recommend doing this 2-3 months before your big day! Leave yourself plenty of time to get used to your new look.

1 Week to go till you’re down the aisle!

Finishing Touches

This should be one of your final things on your Bridal list. It’s time to wrap up your Beauty prep.
Book yourself in for a jolly good wax, an eyebrow shape and a lovely mani/pedi. If you’re off on Honeymoon straight away, then consider a Shellac polish, so that you don’t have to worry about chipped nails. If you don’t opt for Shellac, get your nails done 2-3 days before the wedding, to avoid them getting chipped before the big day.
Get yourself smooth and picture perfect.
Do NOT under any circumstances try anything new or be upsold any previously untried products at this stage. Now is not the time to experiment. You have no guarantee of how your skin will react, so keep it safe and keep it simple.

Relax, enjoy and remember, it’s nearly wedding time…

The day before the wedding! Eek!

One day to go! We suggest that you do very little prep on this day, just relax as much as you can. Wash your hair and drink lots of water to keep your skin looking flawless for the wedding.
Lastly, get some quality beauty sleep. Disney didn’t call her Sleeping Beauty for nothing! Get an early night (as much as you can!), ready for the big day ahead.

Remember to smile, savour and enjoy- nothing is more beautiful than a happy Bride.
